Renowned Indian cartoonist Rasipuram K Laxman is critical after multiple organ failure on Sunday.
The 94-year-old legend was admitted to the Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital in Pune on Friday with severe urinary infection.
He had severe urinary tract infection following which led to kidney failure, sepsis and then multi-organ failure, the hospital informed The Times of India.
Laxman also suffers from diabetes and hypertension. He is presently on ventilator support and is not in “a conscious state,” according to the TOI report.
“Laxman is critically ill,” Dr Sameer Jog told Hindustan Times. “We have put him on ventilator.”
The creator of the “The Common Man” also suffered a stroke in 2010.
