Actress Rani Mukerji is going to be a mom.
The Bollywood diva’s sister-in-law and TV actress Jyoti Mukerji confirmed the news: “Yes, Rani is pregnant,” Jyoti, told the Mumbai Mirror.
Meanwhile, the actress was also seen receiving a pre-natal massage at a London spa last month.
The couple, who returned home last week, is said to have left for another undisclosed destination.
“They returned to India last week after travelling in the UK for over a month but have taken off again, no one knows where,” a source close to the actress, told the Mumbai Mirror.
However, reports emerging on Wednesday revealed that the actress, during her stay in India, was busy with a special puja conducted for her unborn baby.
“Rani is very religious and hence the moment, she returned, she decided to have a puja in the office for the well being of her baby. She is currently in her second trimester and her medical reports are all normal,” an insider told DNA.
This is the first child of the 37-year-old actress with her filmmaker husband Aditya Chopra. The couple tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony held in Italy on 21 April, 2014.
The baby is due in January. The couple is yet to announce the big news.
Rani Mukerji entered the silver screen with the 1996 Bengali film “ Biyer Phool” directed by her father Ram Mukherjee. She was widely accepted for her performance in the 1997 film “Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat.”
She shot up to fame with her leading roles in “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)”, “Saathiya(2002)”, “Yuva (2004)”, “Hum Tum (2004)”, “Veer- Zaara (2004)”, “Black (2005)”, “Bunty aur Babli(2005)”, “No One Killed Jessica (2011)” and “Mardaani(2014).”
